Welcome to the IRWA Tennessee Chapter Website. The Tennessee Chapter has some tremendous resources and links so feel free to look around and familiarize yourself with the people and opportunities available thru the IRWA.
We are coming off a tremendous year for our chapter having just hosted the IRWA National Convention at Opryland in June of 2016. This convention was one of the most successful and the credit goes to the members and associates who volunteered their time and efforts to make it a memorable event.
Our educational offerings for the chapter have produced record numbers of participants not only on a state level but also at the national level. Chapter 32 was recognized as having the 4th largest classroom attendance in all of the IRWA. This was accomplished through the hard work and effort of Bill Medley, our Education Chairman, as well as many others who work with Bill. We plan to continue this into the coming year and hope to produce many other designated members in addition to those who received their designations within this past year.
I want to also take the opportunity to share a little information about myself and let everyone know that I will do everything as the current President of the chapter to keep this train rolling and continue the trend forward from all of the hard work that those before me have put into the chapter. My name is Chris Hall and am an independent fee appraiser from Brentwood, TN. I received my MAI designation in July of this year after having been mentored many years by my father Norman Hall, MAI, SRA, SR/WA. I have only been a member of the IRWA Chapter 32 for a few years, but the strong leadership of those before me has helped in serving as Treasurer, Vice President and now President. I am a native Nashvillian and attended college at Memphis State University now known as University of Memphis. I have been appraising since 1991 and am a member of the Appraisal Institute and the IRWA. I am married to Wendy Hall and we have two sons Barrett (17) and Blake (14).
I look forward to serving as your president in the upcoming year. Please know that my door will always be open to hear suggestions and recommendations as to how we can grow and build this chapter.
“Instruction does much, but encouragement everything.” -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
This quote from 1768 still applies today. Let’s remember to encourage those around us, our family, co-workers, and peers. Make a positive difference in someone’s life every day.
